Cover Crop Management

In order to sustainably improve the soil, increase the humus content, improve the water holding capacity and support the biodiversity in the vineyard, greening mixtures can be sown in less steep locations.

So far, the mechanization in our vineyards has not progressed far enough to be able to carry out greening management in an economically sensible way. In addition, the drought of the past 5 years has made sowing in the predominantly very dry steep terraces impossible. In the medium term, however, this is an important aspect of sustainable viticulture, which we will continue to pursue.
